NIGERIA LAUNCHED A FREE DIGITAL TELEVISION SERVICES OFFERING MANY CHANNELS.

The Federal Government of Nigeria officially launched FreeTV, a national subscription-free digital television platform offering more than 100 channels.

Unveiled by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, at the NIGCOMSAT headquarters in Abuja, this initiative marks a major milestone in the country's Digital Switch-Over (DSO) program to completely transition from analogue to digital broadcasting.

Key Features of FreeTVZero Monthly Subscriptions:

Viewers pay no recurring monthly bills after getting the hardware.100+ Channels: Broad range of entertainment, news, sports, education, and children's content.Indigenous Content: Dedicated channels broadcasting in Yoruba, Hausa, and Igbo.

Independent Producers:

40% of channel slots are reserved for local and regional content creators.How to Access the PlatformNo New TV Needed: Existing TV sets work seamlessly with compatible digital decoders.

Decoder Support:

Accessible via standard DVB-T2 (terrestrial) or DVB-S2 (satellite) free-to-air boxes.Satellite Tracking: Dishes must be aligned to the NIGCOMSAT satellite at 42.5°E.Mobile Streaming:

Available via the Free TV NG app on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
